Endowed Chair in Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus

Colleagues:

Please join me in celebrating the establishment of the George B. Boedecker Jr., and the Boedecker Foundation chair in Endowed Chair in Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, made possible with a generous commitment from the Boedecker Foundation. This investment will provide valuable resources that help ensure our continued ability to attract and retain some of the world’s best physician-scientists, and to continue to expand upon our expertise in emergency medicine.

Created in 2009 by Denver-area entrepreneur and principal founder of Crocs, Inc. George B. Boedecker, Jr., the Boedecker Foundation is dedicated to improving lives worldwide by making philanthropic investments in initiatives and programs focused on education, health and wellness and community collaboration. The Boedecker family and foundation have been supporting CU for nearly a decade, and made a substantial commitment three years ago to support patient cardiac rehabilitation at UC Hospital and research in the CU School of Medicine Department of Cardiology. The state-of-the-art Boedecker Foundation Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Gym at UCH bears the foundation’s name in recognition of their leadership support for improved cardiovascular health.

Professor and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine Richard Zane, MD, has been appointed the first George B. Boedecker Endowed Chair. Please join me in congratulating him for this important honor and all that he has accomplished in the field of emergency medicine.

The establishment of the George B. Boedecker Endowed Chair would not have been possible without the generosity and vision of George B. Boedecker, Jr., and the Boedecker Foundation, or the collaboration of CU School of Medicine Dean John J. Reilly, Jr., Dr. Richard Zane, Sarah Kabat at UC Hospital and Liz Muscatello in the CU Anschutz Office of Advancement.

Congratulations to all.
